The International (TI) is one of the biggest and most important eSports competitions of the year. In this post, we’ll explain what The International is and which teams are playing in it, as well as look at the betting models for the 2022 championship.
The International tournament ( TI )
The International, also called TI, is the biggest and most prestigious tournament on the Dota 2 professional competition calendar. The best teams fight each other for weeks on end. They fight for the Aegis of Champions award and the TI title.
Participating teams come from a wide range of countries. Most qualify through their regional leagues. But the last two teams are determined through «last chance» qualifying rounds. The TI prize pool, on the other hand, varies from year to year. It is mainly formed by crowdfunding from the sale of Dota 2 «battle passes». Last year, the TI10 event prize pool amounted to a total of more than $40 million.
This time around, The International 11 Championship will run through October 30, 2022.
Where is the TI11 tournament being held?
The International Event 11 will be played at two different locations in Singapore. The playoffs will be held at the Suntec Singapore Exhibition Complex, while the final round will be held at the Singapore Indoor Stadium.
Which teams will participate in the competition?
Twenty teams will be taking part in TI11. They qualified through Dota Pro Circuit tourneys, regional playoff events. They are also called «last chance» qualifying rounds. These 20 teams are divided into two groups — which teams play in which group has not yet been decided.
